April Thought of the Month
"Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes but they don’t quit."
~ Conrad Hilton
No person or business has ever achieved success without experiencing failures along the way. Have you heard the modern fable of the donkey in the pit? Abbreviated, an old donkey falls into a deep narrow pit, the farmer can't get him out so he decides to bury him. The donkey shakes off the dirt and gets on top of the growing pile until it's high enough for him to climb out. There's a lot seriously wrong with elements of that story, but not with the lessons it is trying to teach.
If the donkey had simply stood there, his fate would have been sealed. But rather than passively accepting his fate, he took action that saved his life. You can't move forward, accomplish anything, let alone survive doing nothing. Be an active player in your life. Don't assume your dreams can't be achieved. Do something toward your goal, even if it seems small or insignificant, and if that doesn't work, try something else. Don't let external influences shut you down.
