Artist Showcase
The Silk Artist
I first met Cheryl Cameron at a street fair on one of the hotest days of the year. I fell in love with one of her scarves, bought it, then went shopping as soon as I could for something to wear with it. I took this photo a few months later when she was doing a demo at Madeline's Confectionary Arts Studio and Gallery. She is an absolute marvel and if someone hadn't beat me to it, I would have bought the piece she's working on here too. See more, including shopping link, at her website, www.cfcameron.com.

Trees, Glorious Trees
I met Sondra and Josie Thompson at Market at the Square. I was running errands and had a few minutes before the market closed down so I decided to see if I could get some fresh tomatoes. Didn't find any, but I found a treasure instead.
I love copper and the color caught my eye. Their wire sculptures are georgeous and I immediately wished it was next payday. They only come to the Urbana farmers' market once a month, but I will definitely find them again and own at least one of their trees. They don't have a website but here's how to contact them:

A Feast in Felt
Last May I went to Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois for the first time. One of the many amazing things I saw that weekend was in the Artist Alley. I saw the work of Con-Felt-Tionaries desserts out of felt! They are so realistic, especially the whipped cream, that she definitely deserves a place in the Showcase. See more and shop at her website, confeltionaries.etsy.com.
